Appearing in American Banker on January 6, 2025, Kate Berry interviews NCLC Associate Director Lauren Saunders for coverage of how the incoming Trump administration is expected to seek the repeal of some regulations finalized by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  On the chopping block are rules finalized by the CFPB since August, the six-month lookback deadline for lawmakers to repeal rules under the Congressional Review Act. 

“I think we can beat an overdraft CRA — members won’t want to be seen blocking a rule that would reduce overdraft fees from $35 to $5, returning $5 billion in abusive big bank profits to struggling consumers.”
