MA Open Energy and Utility Q&A Hour: Keeping Clients Cool in the Summer
June 27, 2024
Watch RecordingTIME: 12 – 1 PM
For this Q&A, Stay Connected staff will be joined by Dr. Anna Goldman, Primary Care Physician & Medical Director of Climate and Sustainability at Boston Medical Center and Brian Beote, Director of Energy Efficiency Operations at Action Inc. The subject of this Q&A will be on the health impacts of extreme heat as well as both short- and long-term tactics that can be employed to help keep client’s cooler in their homes. The presentation will briefly cover topics such as the health effects of extreme heat on the body, symptoms of heat related illnesses to look out for, some immediate tactics that folks can use to safely cool down if AC is not available, and longer-term energy efficiency upgrades that can help manage indoor air temperature.
As always, hearing from you about how your clients are impacted directly by heat and especially shut offs during the summer is incredibly helpful to our advocacy. A reminder that all questions about Massachusetts energy and utility issues are welcome. They do not need to be related to extreme heat specifically.
