Kathleen Hyland, assistant attorney general in the Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, has served as president of the board of directors of the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition and as Maryland state chair of the National Association of Consumer Advocates. She has championed critical consumer protection legislation, drafting legislation to expand exemptions for bank garnishments and advocating for debt protection and student loan bills.
