Prominent Civil Litigator Elizabeth Cabraser Joins NCLC Board of Directors

BOSTON – Prominent civil litigator Elizabeth J. Cabraser has joined the Board of Directors of the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC). 

Nationally renowned for representing consumers in complex civil litigation and class action lawsuits, Cabraser is a partner at Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, based in San Francisco. 

“Elizabeth possesses phenomenal expertise and wisdom about the consumer litigation landscape and for decades has shown an extraordinary commitment to economic fairness and access to justice for all people,” said Richard Dubois, executive director of the National Consumer Law Center. “In addition, she’s a skilled community builder dedicated to strengthening the consumer law network and fostering a new generation of advocates focused on protecting low-income consumers. I couldn’t be more thrilled that she is joining the NCLC board.”

Dubbed “a pillar of the plaintiffs’ bar” by the National Law Journal, Cabraser has been a partner at Lieff Cabraser since 1981. One of the nation’s most accomplished plaintiff’s attorneys, she represents clients harmed by financial and consumer fraud, anti-competitive practices, harmful drugs and products, and illegal employment practices. In 2019, NCLC recognized her career accomplishments with its Vern Countryman Award, consumer law’s most prestigious honor. For more than 10 years, she has chaired NCLC’s Partners Council, which supports and advises NCLC to ensure that it has the resources needed to advance economic justice.
