August 12, 2024 — Amicus Brief

NCLC joined in an amicus brief authored by the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law regarding the definition of “prevailing party” in civil rights cases where a preliminary injunction is obtained and the case is subsequently mooted out by a legislative fix. The outcome of this case will impact the ability of civil rights plaintiffs to obtain an award of attorney fees, and thus find an attorney to take their cases.
