National Veterans Legal Services Program et al v. the United States of America
Case No. 16-0745 (D.D.C.)
NCLC, together with National Veterans Legal Services Program and the Alliance for Justice, served as named plaintiffs in this class action against the electronic filing system used by the federal courts (PACER), which challenged PACER’s practice of overcharging users for its services. After eight years of hard-fought litigation, the settlement received final approval. Among other things, the settlement requires PACER to refund $100 million in improper fees to hundreds of thousands of impacted class members.
Counsel: Plaintiffs were represented by Gupta Wessler LLP and Motley Rice, LLC.
